1、直接在名词末尾加s。如：desk-desks。
2、以s，x，sh，ch结尾的加es，如：box-boxes，brush-brushes，match-matches。
3、以y结尾，前为辅音字母，要变y为i+es。如：baby-babies。但前为原因字母时，直接加s，如：boy-boys。
4、以f/fe结尾，要变f为v+es。如：knife-knives。
5、以o结尾，外来词或缩写的词，直接加s。如：zoo-zoos，但：tomato-tomatoes，potato-potatoes。
6、可数名词复数的规则变化： 一般的名词词尾直接加-s。如：book → books room → rooms pear→pears，house → houses day → days song→songs。以s, x, ch, sh结尾的名词，在词尾加-es 。如：bus → buses box → boxes，watch → watches dish → dishes。
